Song Writing Competition 2010

‘Conditions of Entry’

There are two categories in the 2010 competition, an under 18 category and an open
category. Where the songwriter is under 18 but the composer of the music is 18 or over, the entry must be in the OPEN category. For the under 18 category the qualifying date will be Monday 3
rd May 2010

The theme for this years competition is ‘Maritime/Nautical’

Writers may enter as many songs as they wish. Each song will be considered as a separate entry and must be accompanied with the entry fee. The song writer and the composer of the music must be made clear on the entry form.

Entry fee per song is £6. An Entry Form and Fee must accompany each song entered.
Cheques may be made payable to:
"Wessex Folk Festival"

The address is on the entry form.

Songs will not be entered for judging if the entry fee has not been paid.

Any style of music is acceptable.

Entrants must provide a recording of the song as well as the lyrics. Chords or musical scores are not required. The recording format can be CD, or Cassette Tape.

All entries must be received by 12 noon on Monday 3rd May 2010

The judges decision will be final. Wessex Folk Festival Committee will not enter into
correspondence regarding the judging of this competition.

The winner will be announced on Wednesday 2nd June 2010 and published on the Wessex Folk Festival Website.

Submission of your entry signifies your agreement for the Wessex Folk Festival Committee  to make copies, in any format, solely for distribution to the Judging Panel.

Entries can be returned to the entrant after the Judging has taken place ONLY if a S.A.E. is provided.
