Song Writing Contest

We are looking for entries with a "maritime theme" as the Wessex region has a long and rich association with the sea and we wish to take this opportunity mark the part that Weymouth & Portland are going to play in hosting the 2012 sailing events.

Submission details:
  • £3.00 per song
  • Entries to be received no later than 10th May 2008
  • Entries to be submitted on CD only - please include printed lyrics.
  • Remember to include your name and contact details
  • If you want your cd returned, please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope
Note: You can submit as many entries as you wish on one CD, but please ensure that you enclose £3.00 per song. If you don't pay your fee your song(s) will not be judged.
Judging:

This year we have four judges, judging the scoring the songs out of 10, in each of the following categories:

  • Relevance to the theme ("Maritime")
  • Appeal
  • Memorability
